Many are the products of sanitary ware manufactured in Sanitana, so early on became known both nationally and globally. Founded in 1979 in Anadia, evolved in order to respond to the markets' needs and, therefore, created in 1987 a plant of toilet seats and covers, and a year later, one of acrylic products. A new factory opened in 1990, this time to produce kitchen sinks. In 2000, a merger authorized by the Portuguese state, Roca turned into the major holder in control of Sanitana's capital, which is currently market leader in acrylic products and whirlpools. Sanitana suffered a sort of revolution, a turning process at all levels of the company, which gradually became into a "new plant", not only with regard to equipment of the highest technological level, but also in the standards of environmental protection . The expansion of the ceramics plant represented an investment of 25 million, allowing us to reach the position of largest manufacturer of sanitary ware in Europe. New modern lines, signed by Italian designer Antonio Bullo, emerge together with a more sophisticated brand, Bellavista. Striving for a sustainable growth and development, with the introduction of new differentiated products, remains to be our belief for years to come.
